A Piece of History – From Grain Shed to Paradise!

Dave & Haylie, in partnership with Haylie’s parents Graham & Denise Duff purchased the BHM in September 2002. Prior to purchasing the property, it was known as the Old Middleton Grain Store with a restaurant and 6 cabins at the rear of the complex.

"As a child Haylie (owner of BHM) LOVED doll houses, she would play with them for hours, making furniture and decorating them with different bits and pieces. Even as a teenager, she still loved her little houses. In 2002, just by chance, Graham and I came to the Old Grain Store and saw the little huts.  I knew Haylie would love them and I knew Dave would be in his element fixing them up. I told them about these little huts and the rest is history." Denise, Haylie's Mum.

To date we have rebuilt and expanded our business, our product results in 20+ years of vision, progress, and awards (check out our 20yr photo booklet in your hut). Our huts are continually upgraded, whether it is major construction or design 'makeover', (at least 1 hut per financial). Haylie has a passion for interiors and styling, Dave (Manager) leads all staff and is also hands on in maintenance. They compose a fantastic combination of skills to keep this piece of paradise maintained and evolving. Graham and Denise’s extensive knowledge, input and experience in the restoration and antique industry equals the perfect mix. The result - attractive huts with all the mod cons that have an eclectic mix of new and old purposely creating a quirky and unique, beautiful 4-star experience.

Our huts have our heart and soul within their walls.  We’ve seen them all go through many phases and upgrades. You know how it is, we look back at these changes and cringe at some of the old photos and wonder ‘what were we thinking’? We’ve put so much thought and consideration into creating these huts, keeping them fresh & evolving without compromising their original charm & magic.  We know we’ve created thousands of special memories at the beach huts & this is why we love to do what we do. This is far more than just a place to sleep! Guests are embraced by a peaceful village ambiance that exudes unmatched charm and character. We cater to families, couples, groups, weddings, conferences, and wellness retreats, providing short-term deluxe accommodations. Arranged spaciously around our horseshoe driveway, the huts overlook the lush and versatile village green, a perfect setting for weddings, gatherings, and children's games. The Village Hall is a great communal space with full kitchen facilities - cook your own or wander 50m to the award-winning Blues Restaurant, where you can sample the very best of what the Fleurieu Peninsula has to offer.

Wander down to the beautiful Middleton Beach where you can sink your toes into the sand, listen to the waves rolling in and watch the sun set over the distant hills of Port Elliot.

Stop, relax & unwind. Welcome to the Beach Huts Middleton.
